5 Adventurous Mums to follow on Instagram

Posted by Ross Montadon

For the outdoor enthusiast, Mother’s Day marks the start of the Spring season. Longer daylight hours warmer weather and all the activities they bring. With the dark winters firmly behind us it’s a great opportunity to get excited for season ahead. We thought we’d share with you some adventurous Mums who are out there… well being adventurous of course. So fill your boots and load up Instagram and check out these super Mums!

SUP Surfing Super Mum

@georgie.sup

If you’re looking for some inspirational UK Sup surfing action Georgie's instagram page is full of inspirational photos. She juggles her busy life as a family doctor, anti single use plastic campaigner and super Mum to 3, who also have a love for paddle boarding on the Northumberland Coast. Water sports is very much a family favourite activity they even formed a family team to join us out at the Dragon World Championships.

Georgie’s beach loving photos provide the perfect inspiration to get out on the water in all weathers. You will routinely see posts from Georgie on a pre or post work paddle. If you’re looking for a rocking SUP surfing sunset pic, or perhaps her multi adventure day combining a surf and ski in one day then Georgie is well worth a follow!

Pro Kite Boarder

@nuriagoma

Nothing beats a great story and Nuria certainly delivers. From a banker to professional kiteboarder and of course a recent Mum. Nuria certainly packs in the adventures and shares her love for kiting with baby Koa and her husband. Nuria shares her passion for being on the road travelling between World class kiting destinations. What’s refreshing from Nuria’s posts is her transparency as a Mum and professional kiter. Everything from training to diet, Nuria shares some superb inspirational photos and ideas. Which will make it hard not to want to book a flight to the Caribbean and your first kiting lesson!

Track and Road Running Olympian

@jopavey

It’s not all beaches and surf breaks, Jo is a honed track and road runner and has clocked off a fair few miles topping up a host of accolades such as 5 time Olympian, European Champion and polished off a Bronze at the World Championships just to name a few. Jo’s certainly one to follow if you can catch her. She’s a busy Mum competing internationally and enjoys time introducing new participants to the freedom of running. If you’re looking to take up a new sport this spring, I would certainly check out her blog for a few helpful tips on how to get going.

Golden Cycling Mum

@laurakenny

Now if you’re in to your track cycling you are probably already familiar with the success of Laura Kenny. With 4 Olympic Gold Medals she is one of the most successful track cyclists in Olympic history. Imagine that on your CV, Laura transfers her on track success off the track as a super Mum to little one Albie. Laura shares her stories juggling between competing, training and being a Mum. You only have to follow her for a few days to wonder how on earth she does it.

Champion Rower

@helenglover

It’s hard to know where to start with Helen, she’s a two-time Olympic Rowing Champion, a triple World and European Champion, oh and she’s been awarded an MBE, she’s certainly worth a follow. If you wonder over to Helen’s Instagram account you’ll be able to share her journey as a new Mum along with ultra-adventure loving husband Steve Backshall. You can follow Helen’s adventures from training, days out and day to day living, which is a refreshing, honest account of being an Olympic Mum.
