Best Board Ive owned
This is my first Red Board but my 4th board purchase. What a difference a different shape board can make to your paddle. I fractured my ankle in October 2023 and have struggled to carry my board since. Having had a 9 week break in paddling I had lost a lot of strength. I then tore my hip tendon so paddling had become hard work and I was very sore after every paddle and needed help to get my board to the waters edge. In April, I paddled the Head of the Dart and had the opportunity to speak to the Red guys at the event. I was curious about the weight of the new MSL+ and loved how light it felt. I decided after my spring holiday I would purchase. It arrived on 24/05/2024 and I went for a paddle straight away. Its definitely a lot twitcher than I am used to, but to be able to pick it up with ease has made such a difference. I went for a 4 hour paddle last weekend and had 4 portages. I had no issues lifting it out of the river and carrying it to the otherside of each locke. This board glides in the water. My old board would stop as soon as I stopped paddling. It's early days with this board as I have only used it 3 times so far but each time has made me smile as I can keep up with my fellow paddlers. I was not sore after using it either. One thing that really shocked me was the carry handle. Such great quality that it is much sturdier than what I have been used to. I'm out for my social tonight so I am very excited about getting on the water again.
