Quilted Lightweight Water-Resistant Adventure Blanket - Blue

I tried out the lightweight and water-resistant Adventure Sit Mat from Red Equipment's new Spring Collection. On first impressions the adventure blanket is really big. You can easily fit two adults on, if not three. With children several could fit on it. The great thing about this blanket is that it is lightweight and portable, perfect for easy carrying. You can pop it into your swim bag or clip it on with the carabiners on the stash bag.

It's also great for picnics and camping. It features peg-down loops for windy days and a zipped corner pocket for popping your essentials into. Then when you’re done, simply shake off any sand, dirt or water, and pack it away into its own stash bag. When the weather gets cooler or the wind has got up, wrap it around your shoulders as an extra layer. Great for wrapping up in to watch the sunset or for stargazing at night. Great for evenings around the campfire or an extra layer to cover you when sleeping in your campervan.

I've been fortunate enough to have been testing this throughout it's development and it's by far the best blanket I've ever used. For a family of four with two under 10's it's the first thing I pack in my backpack whenever we head out at the weekend. And in the off chance I do forget it my kids will remind me before we set off!

We've used this on soggy moorland, wet sandy beaches and even snowy hills (on the rare occasion) and have not once had a cold or wet bum thanks to the 3M Thinsulate material. The waterproof backing also prevents anything from seeping through meaning we can have a picnic in pretty much any conditions without getting a wet bum.

It's the perfect size to fit all 4 of us on and packs down small to fit in the bottom of my backpack in a great little stuff sack.

It's a game changer at the beach as sand doesn't stick to it so can get changed without getting covered and quickly shakes off any excess so you don't take the beach home with you. Top tip is to take some tent pegs with you so you can secure it down when you are in the water and stop it from getting blown around.

I have been lucky enough to be testing this blanket for the last 2 years and I can safely say, it's a game changer! The waterproof backing means your bum is always dry, the insulation means you're never getting cold from the ground below plus sand and dirt just brushes off. It also is very lightweight and packs down small which means we take it EVERYWHERE we go! It always look brand spanking new and hardly ever need to wash it. But when I do, it can be washed and tumble dried so ready for the next adventure. Since testing the blanket, we've been the envy of all our friends!! Honestly, everyone needs this blanket in their life!
