Its hard-wearing, easy-clean construction supports a buy-less, buy-better approach by helping reduce the need for frequent replacement.

Wipe clean, or wash with lukewarm soapy water and rinse with fresh water.
Lubricate the waterproof zips regularly to keep them operating smoothly: remove any sand, salt or dirt from the zips, then apply lubricant to the slider and docking end of each zip.
Waterproof zips may feel stiff at first but should ease with regular use and lubrication.

Best kit bag for open water swimming? Yes I think it is.

I'm an open water coach, so I know the needs of an all-round bag that's really built for the weather and kit away from the confines of a pool. What do I love about this? It's 40L - big enough for my robe and towel, throwline, tow float and boots, goggles, spare layers and cap. Flasks and cake pocket too. The insulated mat is wipe-clean and large enough to actually work in all weather to keep feet and kit dry and warm. I work a fair bit in the hills, and this bag has well-designed rucksack straps that are comfy and configurable, with a neat whistle on the chest strap and, when it's all packed away, the separate pouch for wet kit is large enough for all the damp. I've tried a lot of kit bags - for me this is easily the best for my kind of swim adventures and will safely sit on the paddleboard as a rucksack for general 'paddle to hikes' too. Bag for life - this is it.
