Yes. The integrated air dump valve removes excess air from soft items, reducing their packed size. While it won't reduce the actual volume of the fabric, it makes bulky clothing much easier to pack, transport and store.

No. The changing robe compression bag has a water-resistant finish that helps protect your kit from light rain, spray and wet ground, but it is not designed for full waterproof protection or submersion in water.
